A Phone as Key is A Digital version of the key to your Mahindra eSUV that resides on your mobile device. It's designed to provide convenience, security and privacy equivalent to, or even better than, traditional physical keys. 

The Phone as Key feature is currently available only in India in the following Mahindra eSUVs: 

• Mahindra XEV 9e (Pack Two onwards) 
• Mahindra XEV 9s (Pack Two onwards) 
• Mahindra BE 6 (Pack Two onwards) 
• Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition 
• Mahindra XEV 9e Cinelux

Compatible Phones & Watches 

• Compatible Apple devices: iPhone 17 / 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max / Air / 16 / 16 Plus / 16 Pro / 16 Pro Max / 15 / 15 Plus / 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max with iOS 26 or newer. Apple Watch Ultra 3 / Series 11/ 10 / 9 / 8 with watchOS 26 or newer.

You may get your Digital Car Key by pairing your phone. The Pairing process should be initiated from both your Mahindra eSUV and the Me4U app. On Me4U, please navigate to Hamburger Menu > NFC Key > Setup Digital Key > Start Pairing. (Keep your eSUV On and both key-fobs inside your vehicle). Now, in your eSUV, navigate to MyVehicle App > Interior > Convenience > Manage NFC Key > Add New device. 

Now place your phone on the Wireless Charger pad to add the key to your phone. Once the pairing is complete, you may use your phone as a key for your eSUV. You'll also receive a URL via email when you initiate the process via Me4U. You may use this URL later if you don't complete the pairing process. 

You can lock/unlock your SUV by tapping your device on your SUV's driver door handle. You can start your eSUV by placing your device on the Wireless Charger pad followed by pressing the Start Button. For better security, it’s recommended to enable user authentication on your Android smartphone or disable Express Mode on your Apple Wallet so that your eSUV can only be unlocked when your phone is unlocked. 

Yes, you can share your eSUV's digital car key with up to 15 friends/family. To share your key, go to your phone's wallet, select the key you want to share, and then click on Share. You may now use your preferred channel (like WhatsApp, SMS, Email or Nearby Sharing etc.) to share your digital car key. You can also assign a nickname to the shared key for easy identification. We also recommend you to set an activation option (a shared password) to secure the sharing process. 

You can delete a Digital Key from your eSUV, Me4U App or Wallets (Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet, Apple Wallet). 

• In your eSUV, MyVehicle App > Interior > Convenience > Manage NFC Key > Delete desired key from the list 
• In your Me4U app, NFC Key > Delete desired key from the list 
• On your phone Wallet, Select your SUV Key > Delete desired key from the list 

To delete a key, Your SUV and Phone should be online. 

Devices that support Digital Keys typically contain a certified Secure Element (SE) and NFC capability. Supported devices can function as both as an owner device and a friend device.

Yes, Digital Key functionality is designed to work in Battery Low Mode. However, if some specific user authentication settings (such as User Authentication on Android devices or Express Mode on Apple iPhones) are enabled for a Digital Key, it may not function when the device is in Battery Low Mode.

Yes, Only pairing and sharing functions need internet connectivity. After pairing, locking/unlocking/starting your SUV will not require an active internet connection. 

No need to panic if you have lost your phone. To disable your Digital Car Key in such cases: 

• Login to your Google Find Hub/ Samsung Find/ Apple FindMy from other device and mark your device as lost or stolen. This will prevent your eSUV is being unlocked with a lost / stolen phone key. 
• You may also contact Mahindra Customer Care at 1800 209 6006 for further assistance 

Factory Reset of Phone and Vehicle will delete all the digital car keys associated with that specific phone and vehicle respectively. 

Yes, you may have multiple digital car keys (Owner or Shared or Both) configured on one phone. 

Yes, you may use compatible smart watches along with your phones with Mahindra eSUVs for the digital car key functionality. 

Digital Keys will only work on the Driver side door handle on XEV 9e, XEV 9s and BE 6 eSUVs.

Each Mahindra eSUV is enabled with One Owner's Phone Key and 15 Shared Phone Keys across Android and iOS. 

Your phone or NFC card only needs to be placed on the wireless charging pad while starting the vehicle. If the driver turns off the vehicle without a Phone as Key, they won’t be able to start it again until a valid key is available.
